Personal Definition

Yeah so this is one of my defining lenses for the time being. It’s one of our most prevalent and insidious systems, and I’m sure for a while it’s going to be a grab bag catch-all for anything that even has a whiff of profit-seeking exploitation.

We’re looking at the historical and economic system centered on wages, value extraction, resources and capital accumulation, markets, and profit-seeking above all else.

“This will not have discussions or debates about capitalism still having its benefits or that it can still provide some good. Capitalism lies alongside colonialism, racism and sexism/misogyny as systems of oppression and control, created and wielded by some to overpower the rest. Trying to squeeze bloody benefit from the stone of capitalism is akin to saying that weight loss is a benefit of cancer.” (need to find where I grabbed this from, to cite it properly)
