After “resolving his misunderstanding with the humans”, Tal tells Kal:
“They will no doubt apologize for their oversteps, and you will go back to trusting them.”
The wordless pause from Kal after that is everything, but Tal gives him a quick out by changing topics.
It’s such a key thing, though. That’s Superman’s weakness in this regard and he could use a dose of Tal-skepticism in this matter. At any point, and purely at their whim, the humans will decide he’s a traitor and come at him for it. And if they ever had the information about his family, there is no way they wouldn’t use it.
